If I could I'd buy a jar monthly. Finally found a place I can order from. Gives me a little taste of Baltimore while I'm living in Texas. Been ordering these from these guys for many years. They have the best customer service ever. Had an issue only once and it wasn't their fault but they went out of their way to make up for the mistake UPS made. 'My only issue is the shipping cost as I do understand why it is the price it is it's just hard to believe I'm paying 50 bucks for a jar of onions lol. I recently shared with my fellow co workers and now they are hooked.

The redolent of Suns of Italy Sour Onions was a reunion to all my senses! I knew as soon as I opened the jar that it would be that flavor I so long ago enjoyed growing up in Baltimore. I have been looking for sour onions for years! I've seen pickled onions but was not sure if they were the same. I wanted that good old-fashioned taste. I read the posted reviews, ordered— shipping was super fast—and jumped for joy when I tasted the memory of my youth. A healthy treat! THANKS! =D

We don't get to order these as much as we would like to. But, every time we do, they take us back in time to the corner bar with a jar of them on the bar. They were a nickel back then and if you ate them you never forgot how good they were. It is really great to still be able to get them today and they are as good as ever.

Growing up in the Parkville/Carney area in the 60s and 70s with large families and lots of kids who played outdoors all day long (no electronics back then; we had to actually entertain ourselves with our imaginations!) the group of us would gather up whatever change we could find and walk down Joppa Road to this little deli/convenience store. We could buy a whole pickled onion and nutty buddy ice cream cone along with one of the big wax red lips (what really were they?). All that for less than a quarter. Now I am 55 land living in Chicago. I regularly buy these onions and enjoy them with the fondest of memories. Thank you Sun of Italy!

I grew up in Baltimore. I live in Harford County, MD, not far from Baltimore. You can not find these large sour onions anywhere. We used to find them at every supermarket or corner deli when I was a kid. My daughter is pregnant and was craving these. We couldn't find them anywhere. She is thrilled and says they are just like she remembers as a kid. Peel them layer by layer, they make your mouth water. She said the jar is SO full of onions, she had to take onions out to get to the one she wanted to eat first. A MUST try if you loved the large sour onions you had as a kid. You will NOT be disappointed.

Do they need to be refrigerated after opening? The jar doesn't say.
